6 Unimportant Things About Me
1. I have only had one broken bone in my body, aside from the two ribs that I have slide out occasionally and cause me excruciating pain, only one broken bone, my finger. How did I break my finger you might ask - oh, I didn’t break it, my sister did. Yes, my loving, caring, sensitive beyond belief sister. She kicked me! Must have been some kick because my cast went from finger tip to elbow. I could have opted for an all white cast but instead I got the Utah Jazz cast. What a dork! I’m sure that I could dig out some pretty choice pictures of this cast but unfortunately I was in my “ugly” stage and there is no way that I would volunteer any pictures for anyone’s viewing pleasure, which leads me to unimportant thing #2… My ugly stage.
2. I had (possibly still have) the worst ugly, awkward, how did I ever have any friends stage that lasted much longer than ever necessary or fair for one person to experience. It started at about 6 and I think I’m still pulling myself out of it. I don’t know why my parents ever let me do my own hair before I was a legal adult because the way I looked should definitely be illegal. At one point in my childhood I did my own hair, had braces, wore those lacy top dresses that make you look like a polygamist, and still had only one eyebrow. Wow, what a look right. That brings me to unimportant thing #3… my obsession with shoes and handbags.
3. I have an absolute fetish with shoes and handbags and here is my theory; you could have an ugly day (or stage), a fat day, a sick day, a bad hair day, a p.m.s. day, the list goes on and on but no matter what kind of day you’re having you shoes and your handbag can still look rockin’! If you feel fat, the $200 pair of jeans you’re wearing doesn’t help the cause they just piss you off because they are so D@#$ tight. See what I’m getting at here. No matter how you look, the shoes and handbags do little to add to the frustration of your day, they actually help distract from it. If you have a great handbag or super cute shoes, you can look like crap but people see your awesome handbag or shoes and automatically cut you some slack because they know you have style, you’re just not at the top of your game. Am I not right on this??? But no matter how great the accessory, there is no way to get around #4… the older I get, the bigger wuss I become.
4. I am scared of just about everything these days. Spiders, mice, the dark, the boogie man, long narrow corridors (like the ones you have to walk down to find the bathroom in a mall), confined spaces… you get the idea. I haven’t always been like this. It’s actually getting worse. Scary movies are totally out of the picture and I even have to close my eyes during suspenseful scenes in normal movies. Things that I used to think were fun are now just scary to me. Take wake boarding for example, I go just to get “my turn” out of the way. I’m not sure if I really am scared to do or that I am just so competitive that I hate to suck at something, and I do suck at it! That leads me to #5… I am strangely competitive.
5. Be it a game, a race, a bet, arts and crafts – I want to win; I want to be the best. I have pretty much always been this way but you know it’s bad when people stop playing games with you because it’s no longer fun for them. Luckily T.J. and I don’t play games together because that could be detrimental to our marriage. My mom is just about the only one who will still play with me. I guess that’s her duty as a mother, plus I think she just needs someone to play with and that someone is usually me. My sister won’t even frost sugar cookies with me anymore. She’s still mad because my cookie won over Hunter’s two years ago. And no, I don’t take into consideration the fact that he was only 2, a win is a win! My competitiveness along with a little stubbornness is actually why, to this day, I am a vegetarian… #6.
6. Yes I am a vegetarian. I have been since I was 12 (Mom, I know you think that I was 9, but I’m pretty sure I was 12). One day I proclaimed that I would be a vegetarian. I never really wanted to be a vegetarian, considering both of my grandparents were cattle ranchers and made their livelihood off of people eating meat, it was just a thought, until my sister told me that I couldn’t do it. Well I showed her didn’t I!
If you actually took the time to read all of these I will be shocked! I guess I had quite a few unimportant things to talk about!
I tag Erica, Ashley, Michelle, Takael, Kelly (I just realized I never did the one you tagged me) and Steph (yeah you Stringham!)

You quite possibly could be the only person that makes me laugh until I cry. That my friends is why I love my little sister so much. You are strangely competitive and that's why I love you. Yes you are out of the ugly stage (thank the heavens you started plucking your eyebrows). No, I will not play games with you because you are crazy and mean when you play games. I never even get a sympathy win. I'm scared of long corridors to go to the bathroom too! And lastly I have a ugly day all too often and I don't have any cool handbags or shoes. Do you think that people look at my diaper bags and flip flops and just cut me some slack because I have two naughty boys?
I would like to see this ugly stage of yours of yours, because I have a hard time believing anyone as beautiful as you could ever look ugly no matter what you are wearing. And I had no idea you were a vegetarian!
is someone sitting next to you... because they need to slap you! You are seriously one of the most beautiful girls I have ever known! no awkward/ugly stage for you...sorry. :)
No meat? fajitas? ribs? steak? pork chops? oh thats just sad. ;)
I totally know what you mean about those corridors....they freak me out.
I'm pretty sure my ugly stage (aka 7th-9th grade) could rival yours. I'm a big baby these days too! Troy convinced me to watch "I am Legend" with him and for weeks I would picture these diseased, decaying zombie humans running at me snapping their teeth! Oh, and the other day I thought I heard a noise downstairs so I locked myself and the baby in our bedroom until Troy got home. Lame, I know.
you are to funny... and i am pretty sure you were 13 or 14 when you became a vegetarian cuz we were in the 8th grade! yes i remember! and for that ugly stage, PLEASE! but every time i wax a uni brow i laugh inside a little:-) hahaha
I also laughed till I cried. Of course it could be that I think my kids are perfect.
I can't remember you ever having an ugly stage.
I do remember asking you once what you wanted for Christmas and you said (two eye brows)!
I love my Em!
Mom
That eyebrow thing is hilarious!! I honestly don't ever remember you only having one, but that is too funny. You should see my bushy ones in my senior picture. You'd think by then I would have caught on to the whole plucking thing...nope.
I see your point on the shoes/handbag thing but I'm in the same boat as Erica. I need to go shopping with you.
I think you should single handedly bring the uni brow back - it could definitely catch on!! I'm listening to Sweet Caroline right now and smiling!! so good, so good, so good!
I agree with everyone else - pretty sure there was no ugly stage for you, but you are always decked out in the accessories. Whose ever known someone to wear 5" earrings to dance? I'm always jealous of how put together you always look!!
a little heart on my back, in the top corner. me and my sisters and mom and chuck all got the same one in different places last year! i was the last in my family to give in, but its kinda special in a forever kinda way:-)
I assume you mean me, so I'd better get writing. Even if it was another Kelly, I'm doing it anyway. But don't force me to post my 7th grade photo with a perm, no make-up, braces, and the laser space background. Hot! By the way, if you do make it into SLC next week, I'd love to get together. Maybe we can grab Ashley and go have lunch...I still haven't met her baby girl!
Not believing the ugly stage one, I would like to see some proof. Pretty sure you could wear a cardboard box snd still look gorgeous! That is an awesome reason to become a vegetarian! I might as well become one, I never eat meat and when I do it's pretty much only chicken and I disect it until there is practically nothing left. Right now I am sticken to the sweets only diet!
Yes thank god for Jazz.... Or you might still have one eyebrow! HAHA I love you and miss you! I laughed so hard @ this post! You crack me up doll!
