6 Unimportant Things About Me

Here are the rules: you link back to the person who tagged you, post the rules, & share 6 unimportant things about yourself. Then tag 6 people at the end of you post.

6 Unimportant Things About Me

1. I have only had one broken bone in my body, aside from the two ribs that I have slide out occasionally and cause me excruciating pain, only one broken bone, my finger. How did I break my finger you might ask - oh, I didn’t break it, my sister did. Yes, my loving, caring, sensitive beyond belief sister. She kicked me! Must have been some kick because my cast went from finger tip to elbow. I could have opted for an all white cast but instead I got the Utah Jazz cast. What a dork! I’m sure that I could dig out some pretty choice pictures of this cast but unfortunately I was in my “ugly” stage and there is no way that I would volunteer any pictures for anyone’s viewing pleasure, which leads me to unimportant thing #2… My ugly stage.

2. I had (possibly still have) the worst ugly, awkward, how did I ever have any friends stage that lasted much longer than ever necessary or fair for one person to experience. It started at about 6 and I think I’m still pulling myself out of it. I don’t know why my parents ever let me do my own hair before I was a legal adult because the way I looked should definitely be illegal. At one point in my childhood I did my own hair, had braces, wore those lacy top dresses that make you look like a polygamist, and still had only one eyebrow. Wow, what a look right. That brings me to unimportant thing #3… my obsession with shoes and handbags.

3. I have an absolute fetish with shoes and handbags and here is my theory; you could have an ugly day (or stage), a fat day, a sick day, a bad hair day, a p.m.s. day, the list goes on and on but no matter what kind of day you’re having you shoes and your handbag can still look rockin’! If you feel fat, the $200 pair of jeans you’re wearing doesn’t help the cause they just piss you off because they are so D@#$ tight. See what I’m getting at here. No matter how you look, the shoes and handbags do little to add to the frustration of your day, they actually help distract from it. If you have a great handbag or super cute shoes, you can look like crap but people see your awesome handbag or shoes and automatically cut you some slack because they know you have style, you’re just not at the top of your game. Am I not right on this??? But no matter how great the accessory, there is no way to get around #4… the older I get, the bigger wuss I become.

4. I am scared of just about everything these days. Spiders, mice, the dark, the boogie man, long narrow corridors (like the ones you have to walk down to find the bathroom in a mall), confined spaces… you get the idea. I haven’t always been like this. It’s actually getting worse. Scary movies are totally out of the picture and I even have to close my eyes during suspenseful scenes in normal movies. Things that I used to think were fun are now just scary to me. Take wake boarding for example, I go just to get “my turn” out of the way. I’m not sure if I really am scared to do or that I am just so competitive that I hate to suck at something, and I do suck at it! That leads me to #5… I am strangely competitive.

5. Be it a game, a race, a bet, arts and crafts – I want to win; I want to be the best. I have pretty much always been this way but you know it’s bad when people stop playing games with you because it’s no longer fun for them. Luckily T.J. and I don’t play games together because that could be detrimental to our marriage. My mom is just about the only one who will still play with me. I guess that’s her duty as a mother, plus I think she just needs someone to play with and that someone is usually me. My sister won’t even frost sugar cookies with me anymore. She’s still mad because my cookie won over Hunter’s two years ago. And no, I don’t take into consideration the fact that he was only 2, a win is a win! My competitiveness along with a little stubbornness is actually why, to this day, I am a vegetarian… #6.

6. Yes I am a vegetarian. I have been since I was 12 (Mom, I know you think that I was 9, but I’m pretty sure I was 12). One day I proclaimed that I would be a vegetarian. I never really wanted to be a vegetarian, considering both of my grandparents were cattle ranchers and made their livelihood off of people eating meat, it was just a thought, until my sister told me that I couldn’t do it. Well I showed her didn’t I!
If you actually took the time to read all of these I will be shocked! I guess I had quite a few unimportant things to talk about!

I tag Erica, Ashley, Michelle, Takael, Kelly (I just realized I never did the one you tagged me) and Steph (yeah you Stringham!)

I Heart T.J.

Today is T.J.’s birthday so I thought I would do something special… couldn't think of anything. So instead, here are the…

Top Ten Reasons I Love T.J.

10. He does something completely random everyday to totally crack me up.
9. He’s every bit as stubborn as I am.
8. He can still beat me in a push up contest even though I’m pretty sure he hasn’t worked out in the last ten years and I can’t remember the last time I missed a day.
7. He snuggles me with a death grip and doesn’t even realize it.
6. He is absolutely brilliant when it comes to most anything, especially electronics which happens to actually make me even dumber.
5. He is one of the hardest working, dedicated people I know.
4. He looks flippin’ sweet in his X-Box head set.
3. He will be the best dad in the world someday .
2. He is my best friend in the whole entire world!
And the #1 reason I love T.J. is… He is the “Angelina Jolie of incredibly hot guys” – Barney Stinson

Happy Birthday T! Loves ya!

Here today, gone tomorrow!

My dad came to visit for a day, not near long enough but I will take what I can get. I think that he was more excited to see Biggie than me. He took care of her for 2 years and fell in love! She was so excited to see him that she ran around and whimpered for almost 20 minutes. We ate good food, watched movies and did a little "catch-up". Thanks for a fun 24 hours dad! (How crazy do Biggie's eyes look?!?)

Happy Birthday Hunter!!!

Today is Hunter's birthday and I just want him to know how much I love him! He has always been the cutest little fart! Here are some of my favorite pictures...
This is Hunter at the beach, only one month old.

At Lake Powell, 1 year old. Sweet little face!
This little bear was at The Gateway in Salt Lake and every time we walked passed Hunter would give him a hug. He's a little sweetie heart!
Gas from Las Vegas to St. George: $50

New life Jacket: $20

New swim trunks: $15

Look on Hunters face the first time off the diving board at Grandpa "Chadits": PRICELESS

This picture is one of my favorites! I was at my sister's house and she wanted me to go and get Hunter in the bath. Well I got him halfway undressed and we started playing basketball. This was the face he made every time he made a basket. So, you can clearly see why I got a little side tracked from bath time right?!?

3 years and 11 months old at Newport beach.

Happy #4 buddy! I love you! You will always be my favorite oldest nephew! I hope that you have the best birthday ever!

God Bless America!

For the 4th we were invited by Rick (one of T.J.'s coworkers and friends) to go to Dencia's parents house (one of my coworkers and friends) to hang out and set off some seriously illegal fireworks. The kicker is that Rick and Dencia are divorced. Kind of weird to get the invite from Rick to his ex in laws house right?!? So of course I'm a little weary because guys don't exactly get all the details and I'm sure that T.J. stopped really listening to all the facts after he heard "illegal fireworks". Well, it was such a blast! Fried chicken, scotcharoos and good company. That's what holidays are all about right? So I was excited for the fireworks but I had no idea how crazy these guys are when it comes to spending serious dough on these things. This firework show could seriously rival any local show in Colorado. I was so shocked that the sheriff (that's right, we're out in sheriff country) never came but I guess no ever calls to report them because all of their neighbors love that they get to watch. T.J. was in heaven because he is Mr. pyro himself but I was a little freaked out when one of the guys admitted that he needed a few more beers before he lit off some of the sets because it was a little too crazy to do sober... uhhhhh!!! The fireworks went on for almost an hour and everything went smoothly except for a few ground explosion scares, when I say scares I mean 10 - 20 seconds of complete silence and then finally one of the guys yelling, "we're okay", ahhhhh. Everyone made it out with all 10 fingers and all 10 toes so I guess you would call it a success.

How cute is this little pond?

They set up rows of fireworks along both sides of the dam so that they could light from both sides at the same time.

I didn't really get any great pictures of the fireworks but you get the idea.

It's really happening!!!

As much as I would like to pretend that it's not happening, it is - my sister really is moving to Iowa! This is a picture of the "Clampets" passing through yesterday. My sister and Cody were lucky enough to have Cody's parents brave the trip with them and they all crashed with us last night. I was so excited to see all of them and had to keep reminding myself that they were just sleeping here and not really coming for a visit but I'll take what I can get! I could just kiss the little faces off of my nephews but my dogs stole all of their attention, little jerks! I really wanted to stay up and talk with my sister all night but of course everyone was exhausted from traveling and with 2 full days to go everyone really needed sleep so I just sat in bed all night listening for any opportunities to steal some "girl talk". Needless to say, it didn't happen and now I'm just exhausted from staying awake all night by myself! I love you guys so much and I'm so excited for your new little adventure and can't wait for my first trip out to visit in August!

Happiest Place on Earth!

Last weekend we went to our favorite place, Lake Powell. This is about the only place that is "important enough" for T.J. to actually take work off for. I on the other hand take every chance I can get to vacation, hence T.J.'s favorite saying, "I'm the only one who moved to Colorado, you just come to visit" - oops. We try to get there as many times during the summer as we can. We eat, sleep, watch movies, wake board, eat, eat, sleep - what more could you want?!? My in laws just remodeled the interior of their houseboat and it looks amazing!!! Thanks for another great trip guys!!!

Newport Beach

Last weekend I went to Newport Beach with my dad's family, sister and my favorite boys, my nephews, Hunter and Cael. It was so fun to see them have so much fun at the beach. They played, or as Hunter called it "worked", so hard all day long. That is the last time I get to see them before their big move to Iowa (I get to see them again on their way through but that doesn't really count) and it couldn't have been anymore perfect. Then I stopped in Salt Lake to see my best friend Ashley and her beautiful little girl Zaida on my way home. I'm in the process of setting up an arranged marriage between Zaida and one of my nephews! She is the sweetest little girl I have ever seen and of course my nephews are the most handsome boys in the world so it would only be right to set 'em up, right?

Weekend Wedding!

Jenn and Josh got married on Saturday and it was absolutely perfect! The festivities started on Thursday night with a bridal shower and both the bachelor and bachelorette parties. Friday was filled with mani/pedi's, the dress rehearsal and the wedding dinner. Saturday was the big day and it could not have been any more beautiful. Jenn was glowing the entire day and Josh could not take his eyes off of her. Congratulation guys, I love you!

I'm usually a lot better at the close up pics, sorry Keela and Mel! You'd think that I had been drinking here but I can take a water shot with the best of them!

All of the bridesmaids at the wedding rehearsal.

The Happy Couple!!!

Me, Jenn, Mel and Bri at the wedding dinner.

Doesn't she look gorgeous?!?

Gettin' ready for the real deal!

Me and my hubby. He bailed right as the dancing started, funny! After only three songs, I looked over and he was gone. I'm sure he knew that I would embarrass him one way or another. Smart guy!
Cutting the cake - to what song you might ask... Pour some sugar on me! I told you we were freakishly alike! The Garter! Josh stripped off his jacket and swung it over his head then rolled up his sleeves - so cute! What a perfect couple!!!
